SOFIPA CORPORATION Promotes Digital and Financial Inclusion of Seniors in Oaxaca through the "Silver Finance" Program
Oaxaca, Mexico – [03/15/2025] – SOFIPA CORPORATION, in collaboration with Musa and with support from the German Sparkassenstiftung for Latin America and the Caribbean, BID Lab, and the “la Caixa” Foundation, has successfully implemented the innovative “Silver Finance” program, transforming the lives of entrepreneurs over 60 in Oaxaca through financial education and technology.
Recognizing the significant barriers that older adults face in accessing financial and digital services, SOFIPA CORPORATION joined this initiative to provide them with autonomy and the tools needed to manage their finances independently. For years, many of these entrepreneurs had to rely on others or neglect their businesses to carry out basic financial tasks, such as loan payments.
The “Silver Finance” program focused on financial education training delivered through an accessible and familiar platform for this demographic: WhatsApp.
Initial results have shown a significant impact on the lives of the participants:
High Participation: 87% of SOFIPA clients over 60 actively engaged in the training via WhatsApp.
Digital Adoption: 40% of participants successfully made their first digital loan payment after completing the training.
These results mark the beginning of a transformation that directly impacts the well-being and quality of life of older adults, giving them greater control over their finances and empowering them in the digital environment.
